Perilla is an annual plant growing up to one meter in height. It is native to China and used in traditional medicine and cuisine. A member of the Lamiaceae family, its body structure is similar to nettle or mint. The part harvested for phytotherapeutic purposes is the leaf, which is used internally. Recommended dose and instructions: Shake well. Use use 20 drops 3x per day. Doses for children should be proportionate to their body weight. The daily recommended dose contains extract equal to 1,433 mg of fresh plant matter.

Cultivated primarily for its seeds and especially its leaves, Perilla should be sown in early May and harvested from late September to early October.
